My new to me Jeep has a crazy bright cupholder light. Is this right or am i missing a cover?

That is a clean cup holder. I do not want to highjack the thread but back in the JK the rubber liner was removable this one does not appear to be or I just do not know how to do it ?

Try covering the light with some electrical tape to block the brightness. The tape should direct the light into the cup holders.

This is literally one of those features you never knew you wanted on your list of wanted features list.

while on the one hand I love jeep for its overall simplicity, its attention to detail like this that really hits home.

so now im conflicted between simple and complex like so much yin yang. Thanks for nothing jeep.

I was pleasantly surprised when I got delivery of my 23 and notice the cup holder was light up.
Lot of luxury for a wrangler, certainly adding to the price.

but why do cups need light?

aren’t we’re supposed to be driving, not looking down at cups?

seems like complexity and cost based on Poodlefication. i donā€˜t want, can’t justify a legitimate ā€˜need’ for and don’t want to pay for it.
we can look for our cupholders when we’re safely stopped, and if we can’t find them without a light then, we should probably question if we should really be driving in the first place.

It's not needed at all to grab your drink while driving at night, but does help seeing the location out of your periphery when putting it back.

Mine's completely covered by a coaster/liner so it's still not impossible or anything, just not as easy to *safely* put back my beer without spilling a little. They're usually empty and get replaced by that step anyway ;)
