A little maintenance today…… took my sway bar links off and cleaned them up and give them a good WD 40 bath….. wheelin around here requires a little maintenance more often. The sand is a bitch, it’s in the water holes, in the mud, everywhere….. and it wrecks havoc…..

…..and here they are all cleaned up….I know the bars are a little beat up, I can’t keep paint on them, so I stopped trying…… ……

Just a heads up for my brothers and sisters here in FLA if you’re running heims, keep the sand out….. ✌
Man I need to get my butt on installing mine. Been in box since I got them. Yea. not much of a wrencher here. Slap my around.

Gotta do what you gotta do, like your lift substitute too!
And fwiw, at least your steering stabilizer still looks shiny and almost new :)

@Chocolate Thunder , didn’t you have your gears shined up, I forget the technical term, lol, if so, was it worth doing, and do you have link where you had it done ? Thanks man…..
Indeed I did. It’s called REM isotropic finishing (don’t call it polishing!) and I had it done at GearFX Driveline in NC. Was it worth it? I hope so, but I can’t say for sure because they’re still sitting in a box in my garage instead of inside my differentials because I haven’t found anyone yet that I trust to do my gears. But they’re shiny AF, so that has to count for something! The supposed benefits are great - no hear cycling is required for initial break in, they are supposed to run cooler and smoother because of the finished surface, and supposed to have enhanced lubrication also. Shoot Sam an email or call, he was helpful.

I figured if it’s good enough for @chevymitchell it’s good enough for me.

Since I’m running long travel shocks with 3.5” coils, my rear springs come loose when both sides of the rear axle droops together. When I stuff one side and droop the other they stay tight. So I would only have a problem if I get airborne, not likely, lol, but it’s also a pain in my ass every time I put it on the lift for anything.

I really didn’t like the idea of putting limiting straps on or near the shocks or springs, didn’t want to have to worry about what they might be interfering with when they were folded, or bunched up at ride height. Also I didn’t want to limit my droop by an inch or so either.

Sooo…. I decided to do one limit strap in the middle or close to the middle. Since I have the truss on the rear diff that the upper control arm hooks to, I decided to weld in a bushing in one of the holes in the truss….. and there’s a threaded hole in the frame…. Not sure what it’s for….maybe they set up the frame rails for the fuel tank to go on either side…..

I dropped the rear wheels out two different ways and I’ve got plenty of slack both ways.
