My 2018 JL recently developed ongoing squeaks in both of my side mirrors. It's worst when hitting even small bumps in the road or at high speeds in the wind. Squeaking sound is noticeable even with the window closed. Wondering if anyone has had a similar noise and was able to find a remedy.

I also have not been able to fold-in either mirror since purchasing my JEEP in 2020. Today I sprayed silicone lubricant into the swivel joint on each mirror to hopefully free up both mirrors. I'd like to be able to fold them in at car washes and in tight trails during hunting season.

It happened to both at the same time??
Well, I first heard them at the same time. My hunting partner heard the passenger mirror overtop of the freedom top wind noise and the radio. When I turned the radio off, I heard it too. Then, with the window down, I could hear the driver’s side mirror too, just not as loudly. Can put a hand on the mirrors and the sound disappears. Maybe if I silicone spray at all the places where plastic meets plastic the sound will disappear. Just wondering if others have heard the same noise and figured out a remedy…

Push up on the mirror head slightly when you try to fold them, the should go. Then spray a good amount, but not too much, lube in the area between the mounting base and the bottom of the mirror head. After that fold them back and forth a few times. Then lock them back into place.

Thanks. I'll give it a try . . . after golf today. I'm worried I might break some of the plastic if I push too hard against an immovable object. I'll have to stay just a little below 'Beast Mode'. I'll let ya know if I'm successful.

Nope. Let the silicone work on the pivot points overnight and during my 18 holes of golf. Got home and tried lifting and turning on both mirrors, but they’re still unmovable. Not wanting to break them, I think I’ll make an appointment at the local Jeep dealer, explain the squeaking and immovable mirror problem and let them break them (or make them quiet and moveable).
