I'm curious how these glass shields hold up to ice scrapers and negative temps for months.

I'm going to have to throw down, if dad owns wrangler in az. Never got a crack, he doesn't drive on hiway.

Avoiding speeds where a rock could impact your windshield is one way to avoid getting it cracked. Also avoiding areas where they spread sand / pebbles for snow helps.

Just had safelite replace my windshield. They didn't use oem. I've had a lot of windshields done by them and they've never done this before.

I called and complained and they are replacing it with an oem windshield

Safelite has done both of my replacements - my '21 with Gorilla Glass and my '23 with regular OEM glass. Both times I was very specific that I want exactly what my Jeep came from the factory with. The rep literally asked on the '23...does your windshield have the little Jeep in the corner, and I said yes. Thankfully both times when the installer showed up he had the right glass.

I know many of you aren't satisfied with the Gorilla Glass. FWIW I firmly believe if I didn't have GG on my '21 the rock that hit would have come through the glass. Worst windshield impact ever. (Thank you Utah DOT for never doing any kind of sweeping in a freeway work zone!!!!) The stone was kicked up by a Semi Truck going in the opposite direction. Only reason its not on my '23 is it was available to order at that time.
