Hi , just joined been reading thread for few years when needed info. Wife’s got a 2020 Rubicon with the 2.0 turbo. And recently had it overheat from low coolant. I can’t believe there is no warning for low coolant level on this vehicle. Unless sensor faulty I cannot locate or find any info if it has a level sensor for the coolant. Looks like the engineers want you to have issues. But they will let it put fresh air in the cabin on long road trips. All the information and warnings that are on vehicles they leave this off. Had no Idea till this happened about what appears to be coolant issues with these little engines. Yet to find a leak or reason coolant lost. Sending oil sample off be tested also.
thanks for all info here.

2021 Rubi 4xe. What’s up with the black plastic tank and the retarded dipstick? Every other vehicle I have had has an opaque reservoir allowing quick visual inspection. Also this one seems to need topped off more frequently. No signs of leaks and nothing in the oil samples.

I believe that it is because of the location of the expansion tank, right over the the turbocharger. A transparent tank would require polyethylene, whereas the black tank is probably glass reinforced nylon.

Have a good look around all the hoses and fitting for any signs of coolant leaks (often a white or red crust). The tank itself fails on the seams and also at the fitting on the bottom.
