I feel like a dumb @ss but figured I would share my experience. I have been dealing with a "clunk" sound in the rear end while turning corners and a loud rattle going over bumps. This has been driving me crazy. It sounded like something was rolling around in the storage area of the JLU. After removing everything in the storage bin and driving around and still hearing it, I started re-torquing the lift in the rear end and removing the spare and replacing etc.
After several days, I had a epiphany of sorts. I decided to check the jack area. Guess what? The jack had come loose out of its perch and was sliding back in forth hitting both sides of the tub. As uneventful as this finding might sound just reading about it, I can tell you it made my day.
Anyway, hopefully this post saves just one person the headache I went through and just goes to prove that sometimes the simpliest things are the ones often overlooked.
