Been dealing with this awhile over the years. Clicking/tapping sound from the windshield header when going over bumps or turns. Long ago it was on the passenger side. I snugged up the windshield bolts and it was good for awhile. It returned but now above the driver's side. I've loosened all the bolts and retorqued. I've used thread locker. The sound still remains and all bolts seem snug. Any ideas how to fix this for good (besides removing the windshield)?

I wonder if there’s a clip or something loose inside the windshield header plastic trim piece itself. You can remove the freedom panels and pull that trim down slightly to look inside there without fully removing it. Probably a long shot but people have found stranger things.

I just lowered my windshield on my 2018 for the first time a couple months ago to add the drip rail on the a pillar.
I found a loose razor blade, some pens and various other detritus.
No friggin idea where the razor blade came from but one of my mystery rattles went away :)

My ‘24 came from the factory just like that. First 10 miles, literally on the drive home. SOT top, BTW.

The dealership “fixed” it at mile #11 by cranking it down harder and half-stripping the screw head.

In related news, I don’t go to that service department any more.

Yeah it's definitely not anything loose in there like something left inside. It's the sound people mention when the bolts are loose but tightening them isn't working like it used to and now it's on a different side. I'll just experiment around with the order I torque them down in. Just wondered if anyone else figured this out better. I feel it's like there are slot nuts in there that give a little adjustability but if not completely tightened they rattle? Who knows. It's a Jeep thing, right?

It may sound weird, but I put a coat of silicone grease on the white pins on the front of roof panels and the clicking sound went away. Apparently there was enough flex in that area to cause contact.

Worth a try, though I feel it's in the header. Thanks
