Mine has not changed in sound or frequency of the clicks since day one. I changed dealerships to get a second opinion. If that fails then ill go to plan yellow after the 3rd failed attempt at the repair. What concerns me is if its a metal to metal contact that will cause a failure, or premature wear on a part. I do know is that its repeatable and many Jeeps here local from sports to Rubicons have the exact same click sound. FYI mines done it since day 1 and @10800 miles sounds the same as it did with 5 miles on the OD.

My ball joints were torqued down at the dealer i visually saw this and chatted with the tech as he went through my Jeeps frontend. The tech did find some loose parts in my front end and adjusted them accordingly. It did not cure the clicking like it did for some here. It also didnt help with the wandering and play in the steering hence the reason i took it to dealer #2. Its always good to get a second opinion. It also seems to be on Lifted and non lifted Jeeps as well. The quest for knowledge continues ;).

below is a link to the post with the sound.

Thank you for that link. Definitely the same noise that I have. I got my in November and can't say I had my windows down a lot when driving and if I had my music up the noise couldn't be heard. I do know I started hearing it around 6k miles. That was also in the spring time and when my windows were actually rolled down. It's possible the noise has been there longer, but I can't say I realized it till about 6k. I agree with you on plan yellow :CWL: (if I understand you correctly). I've already had an instance I tried that and Chrysler played their game and did it well. If this ends up getting into that category again, I'll be sure to play their game better this time

Yep plan Yellow is a last resort for me. My state has very clear plan yellow guidelines. Document document document...Above all be kind and respectful. We have a 3 strike and 30 day rule here for our states plan yellow Laws. So far ive only had to do that with Ford twice....Its a huge PITA but a last resort..If My current Jeep continues to be a service Queen and i cant go plan yellow ill Just trade it and buy another one. I like Wranglers that much lol Insane i know...

Edit: My 15 tahoe i loved became a service Queen with no repeatable issues so it became a 4Runner TRDORP

Well I had the same idea as you. Only I'm hoping the NCDS arbitration case I have comes back with something in my favor. I was going to get another wrangler(non 2.0 since that's what I'm actually having issues with) and then trade it in for maybe a bronco when they come out. I figure I work for a Ford dealer. If anything happens, my dealer will help me

Mine has been doing it when turning right more than left, and now I’ve got an annoying squeak that happens every time I stop, regardless of how fast I’m going. Can’t pinpoint it either, so back to the dealer I go.
Sigh. Same clicking sounds for my 18 JLUR with 12,000 miles. I get a single click when turning in either direction and also hear a click when backing out of the garage. I had all steering components torqued to spec by myself and the dealer and no clicks for a while....then they came back. I've read this thread and don't really see a common reason for these ghost clicks. Supposed to take it into the dealer for the steering stabilized recall in a couple weeks and maybe that will take care of it again....for a few weeks.
Hi jayteal & Jeep It,

If you’d like an additional layer of assistance as you work with your dealers, please do not hesitate to send us a private message. We would be happy to have your situations documented and connect you with case specialists who will be able to work alongside your dealers.

I believe Most here have multiple metallic clicks when turning. There is a video of it a few pages back you should checkout if you haven’t already.

The click in reverse might be the drive shaft engagement. Was told reverse clunk was normal

I’ll have a update soon as I dropped the Jeep off to a new dealer Thursday. This dealership was just purchased by same folks that own a large auto group known for customer service. We shall see....

They are checking the clicks, the newly developed loose steering, slight wandering issue and applying a few tsb’s for those issues. So far 3rd day and no info yet.
Hi Dvol,

Please keep us updated on your dealer’s findings. If we can be of any assistance, we’d be happy to help. We are just a PM away.

I have a clicking noise in the front driver tire area, but it happens more when slowing down from 30 mph to 0 while going straight. I have tightened the ball joints and it still happens. The dealer just blamed it on my lift or steer smart steering components. But it happens on other Jeeps that are stock. I can get it to click once by turning the tires back and forth while parked. But that is a single click and not the multiple click sound I get when slowing down. Might be something with the brakes?

No clue what it is yet and my dealer is useless.

Hi Huehue80,

Sorry to hear your concern is persisting. If it would be of interest, we would be happy to get a case escalated for you so one of our case specialists could work alongside your dealer to find a potential solution. Please follow up with us via PM if this would be of interest.

Dealer #2 failed to find cause of the clicking. Guess the star case i have is still unresolved. Going Back to Dealer #1 end of week to talk to service manager about steering play and the clicking, Dealer #1 was very backed up and i wanted 2nd opinion on the clicking hence taking my Jeep to dealer#2. I still have 1-1/2" of steering wheel play im pretty sure its the actual Gearbox. Dealer #2 flashed It with an update with 0 change. Recall V41 applied noticed 0 change as mine never had the shimmy. Both Dealers have been professional so far both have gone outa the way to help..Just neither can find the cause of the clicking and seem to think 1-1/2" of play before wheels respond to input isn't abnormal...:)

I have been racking my brain with this click BS since last March. Everything is tightened to spec under the Jeep. I actually embrace the clicks now...and often think....when my Jeep clicks...I wonder who else our there clicked at the exact same time I did. I get a grin..and then dive off!

Best Feeling ever.....................................no seriously....can't wait for an answer on this.

Do you have any lower control arm skids?

Dealer said it was due to control arm skids I have on. Did anyone reach a solution for the clicking noise?
Nope. Dealer hasn't contacted me since I asked about a loaner....

Well I can assure you I don't have a locker :CWL: but I'm not sure what it is. Kind of worrying me but hey if it breaks, just one more reason for me to yell at my case manager as to why I want this POS bought back

Well, add me to this list. My Jeep started clicking this week. :( It will also be going in for a second time for the AC Comperssor leaking oil, after they supposedly replaced it with new one.
