There are 2 cases that you get that quality. You pay for it, or its subsidized by the government and being used to push the country forward which their EV and auto industry falls in the latter.I used to think this as well but a good friend of mine who’s company made precision sensors for manufacturing machines convinced me that the Chinese have surpassed the US and Germany in terms of manufacturing precision, thanks in part to Apple and Tesla who spent billions training them.
Maybe, but they'll make it from pot metal instead of forged steel.I used to think this as well but a good friend of mine who’s company made precision sensors for manufacturing machines convinced me that the Chinese have surpassed the US and Germany in terms of manufacturing precision, thanks in part to Apple and Tesla who spent billions training them.
This is true. In the 20 years that I've been traveling to China, it is astounding to see their progress. Their engineering and manufacturing abilities have easily surpassed ours, save for maybe a few specific areas.I used to think this as well but a good friend of mine who’s company made precision sensors for manufacturing machines convinced me that the Chinese have surpassed the US and Germany in terms of manufacturing precision, thanks in part to Apple and Tesla who spent billions training them.
Something I’m less sure of is China‘s commitment to quality consistency. Japan took American teaching (Deming) to heart and built a quality manufacturing culture out of the ashes of WWII. I remember the president of our Japanese office ($50M business) excusing himself from our meeting to travel to a customer site where one of our machines had failed. Nothing was more important to him than apologizing to the customer in person and assuring him the problem would be solved ASAP. I’m not sure China has reached that point yet culturally. They seem to operate with more of the American mindset of profit first.I used to think this as well but a good friend of mine who’s company made precision sensors for manufacturing machines convinced me that the Chinese have surpassed the US and Germany in terms of manufacturing precision, thanks in part to Apple and Tesla who spent billions training them.

Just saw this, so I thought I'd share. Interesting it uses the same auto tranny as our Jeeps.
I like how it looks (don't hate).
Glad somebody finally said it and thank you fir doing so before I read this thread.Hard pass on any made in CCP vehicle.
Japan is still about acting honorable, whereas China is exactly the opposite. If they don’t know you, they don’t care about you in the slightest. This is why they were exporting children’s toys that had been painted with lead paints.Something I’m less sure of is China‘s commitment to quality consistency. This thread isn’t about Broncos….Its styling is a patchwork of stolen design elements.
