I was afraid it might be a little bit too deep. The factory shim was .052" but I damaged it getting it out and ended up putting in .053". My new pinion was a zero etch so thought it would be close. I think I'm going to run it like this since I really don't want to have to pull the head bearing back off.It looks really close.
If it were me, I'd experiment with maybe 1 or 2 thousandths out of the pinion shims and see if that would center the drive side a hair.
But at the same time, I would also likely just run it as is.
@chevymitchell would probably be better at judging. I'm an amateur and he's a professional.
