Charging System Warning Light

I scrolled through my dash screens and the ESS screen just says "not ready".

Still no dash lights and everything is driving fine. Calling the local dealership now. .

Just got back from the dealership. They said they have never heard of the email before, but they looked at the Uconnect app and said it was legit. They didn't find any error codes and said everything was okay.

As far as the start/stop system, they said it is working as normal. I played with it and found that it works as normal if the AC is off. If the AC is even on the lowest setting, it won't activate.

I guess I will just see what happens. Hopefully I don't get anymore emails.

OP says there was no dashboard warning. I see no reason to doubt that. Unless it's just picking up on ESS never being available. That's possible and now that I've gotten a good night's sleep that makes more sense.

What @RoadiJeff said. If your ESS always says "Battery Charging", take it in for service. You will eventually get stuck somewhere with an unstartable Jeep because of that, only question is how soon. Might be a few months, might be tomorrow.

I got this message sent to me while I was replacing my alternator. The pulley was spraying grease so I decided to replace the unit.

What's weird is that my Jeep is a 2018 and I'm not subscribed to anything. I don't have XM Guardian anymore; any free trial services that came with my Jeep ended long ago, but the second I unplugged the alternator, Mopar immediately shot me an e-mail about the charging system.
