The tray will be first followed by the dividers. If things go as scheduled the tray should be available on Amazon in February. Dividers are late February or early March. All these parts are injection molded plastic which is a complex process. So dates are tentative based on how things look in January when we sample for the first time. Stay tuned!
Love this idea and I will be picking one up. Looks like it suppose to be there from the factory. My center console inherently ends up being like that junk drawer that everyone has somewhere in their house

Happy New Year! Back to work after a nice little break.

Here are pictures of the 3D printed prototypes of the center console divider and tray. These are representations of the design in production. Ignore the part quality. See the original post for examples of the quality of our finished parts as well as the rubber liners that will go in the tray. The tray will be released first followed by the divider. Planning on February based on current schedule.

I like then idea but why did you completely ignore to spot already in the console for the USB cables to exit and ignore the light in some consoles?

I don't think the light was ignored. The prototype was designed using a Jeep that didn't have the light, but as I understand it, changes have been made in the design to accommodate it.

The most recent pic is the redesign tray. They just put a bump in the tray but it covers the light and therefore makes it useless. For being “OCD organizers” they are not very OCD about the details.

The bottom one I like a lot the top seems to have a bit to many dividers, so are they customizable as in not using all the dividers ?

Yes, the location of the USB cables will get crushes by the closing of the top the way they designed it. The Jeep already has a cutout for cables on the side.

I'd love some organization, but these prototypes leave A LOT to be desired. The cable routing is poor, as noted. And there are way too many dividers.

The thickness of the tray uses the space that was intended for the cables to exit the side of the console. The upper (small shallow) secondary console sharing space with the tray when closed limits space on the sides. Therefore, we decided to route cables out the front. Many other vehicles we make product for have cables exit out the front of the console. Most of us have phones and devices mounted in front of the center console so it seems natural to have cables go in that direction. Routing cables out the front also prevents them from interfering with the seat belt.

There are rubber bumpers at the front of the console allowing plenty of space for the cable to pass through.

Notice that the light in the console is half the depth of the tray and points down. Making it useful for bottom of the console for those that have a JL with the light.

Yes, you could leave a divider out.

You have to accommodate a bumpout or cutout for the light. But having some sort of a cutout in the bumpout so that it can provide light to the tray area would seemingly make sense. What I and others are saying is the light doesn’t need to be shining down into the bottom of the console while the tray is in place - that’s pointless.

I propose you just lose the bumpout altogether, and instead cut out a ~1.25-1.5” wide space in the top half of the tray (i.e., wide U-shaped) to accommodate the ~1” wide light. You could then keep a sufficiently high lip on the bottom edge of the tray in that area so that any contents don’t spill out as you remove the tray or drop it in (you’d just drop it in rear-first so the bottom of the U shaped cutout would fit under the light which sticks out maybe 1/2” or so). See my rough sketch based on your prototype attached.

Thanks for the feedback. There was a couple iterations to work around the light. In the end we went with the picture shown. Keep in mind that only the higher trim level JLs have the light. Having an opening in the back of the tray would not make those without the light happy. It would be a pretty easy mod to cut the light notch out if that is what you want.

The good news is the mold should be done and sampling production parts this week.
