Cargo Tub Subwoofer Project

Here is a project I have been working on for another forum member over the weekend. It is a custom subwoofer enclosure for an 8" in the cargo tub! Recessed so it clears with an optional grill.

Dont waste your money on the $750 JL Audio version if you dont already have the premium audio group.

Do you intend to the port the box so you have reasonable response with the top or doors off? Seems like there is not a lot of air volume there to support solid bass. I’m curious as to what the sub your using requires for proper tuning with respect to volume in its enclosure.

Due to the depth, or lack thereof, a shallow mount is required and need .5 to 1.2 cubic feet nonported or and .66 to 1.5 cubic feet for ported so the person owning the box can decide what they want to do.

Which shallow mount sub are you thinking? I ended up using that area to mount amps and cooling fans.

I was looking at the Polk 8" shallow mount but the person who the sub box is for can use what ever he decides
