I just picked up my Rubicon last week and was wondering if I was supposed to get a rear cargo mat. On my previous JK, I had ordered the slush mats, but it had a reversible cargo mat that sat right inside the rear door. It was about 3ft by 3ft, square mat, one side was carpet, and the other side was a nice rubber. On my JL, I did order the dual top and I have not opened the box yet, not sure if it might be in the box? Did they discontinue the rear mat on the JL?

I'm not entirely sure, but i think they did discontinue it.
My JK had it as well and I really liked it and was hoping it would be in my new Rubicon.

Cargo mat can be bought separately or comes with the trail rail system

That sucks, I really liked that mat...easy to pull out and shake off some dust/dirt...

As much as I like a lot of the new features taking away some of the basic things is a bit of a kick in the nuts.

If I get a JL I will be protecting my carpet with the Canvasback and then a cargo mat over it.

Since I don't have the trail rail system, I'm waiting for the WeatherTech cargo mat.Hoping that one stretches across the entire cargo area.

My plan was to use out JKU mat until the Weather Tech becomes available. As well as it is working out, I don’t know if I will replace it now.

I wish there was less carpet these days. I live near enough to coast its wet at night and morning, even if its gonna be 100 during day. I would prefer the entire inside be washable out with hose.

Maybe something like a truck bed liner instead of carpet as an option going all the way through cab and allowing drainage out. Now that would be epic, you could put rub mats over top and such and hose it all out. For me its the back that gets full of stuff from my 2 dogs and hauling stuff.

Oh well looks like I will still be using leaf blower to clean out my vehicle, and maybe hose by feet area (minor improvement only from a cross over)

Tell me about it! This list is growing. I bought a $50k vehicle and had to pay extra for sill guards, plugs for my optional all-weather floor mats, steel bumpers, mud flaps, etc. Seems like they nickel and dime you for everything.
