I had an automated car wash rip off one of my tail lights last week. I have been reimbursed but no longer use a car wash. How many wrangler owners still use car washes or have had bad experiences like mine?

What? I use one weekly in Alaska during winter time maybe sometimes once a month. I have never had anything "Ripped off". I have never had a bad event. They are good for undercarriage cleaning also which is important.

Did you bring it up with the owner?

Look around, I use one that hand washes then I go through sprayers only, they dry and do the interior, a good job too, but not cheap $50 for the top option.

So don't give two fucks anyway. Has to be some Colorado thing.

So in the end will be a bunch of Colorado guys deciding what is ok to be said. Which means nothing? LOL Not to me anyway. Too much weed maybe
I’m confused, must have missed something, the hand wash is in the next town, only ~20 minutes extra, but it is the last of 4 in the area . ??‍♂

How do soft top owners clear their Jeep? The touch less car washes? Or hand? Or you do it at home yourself?

I wouldn't be afraid to use a car wash, but I do mine by hand. The machines can't get all the bugs off. It's satisfying to do by hand, and saves a small fortune.

I have always done it by hand but no longer able to because I am in an RV traveling. So far not one RV park we have stayed at will let you wash the RV or your tow vehicle.

So I have been going through car washes. I hate it, and they do a crap job compared to doing it by hand, I have to come back and finish the job with some dry wash. The parks will let me dry wash cause I'm not using their water.

The only issue so far, knock on wood is that I believe all the car washes loosened two plastic rivet's one my XR flares. Same rivet on both sides in the front and I had to replace them.

I live in SLC and I have been running my vehicles through touch less washes for years. Out here they use a ton of brine and salt during the winter and the touchless ones are perfect to knock the junk off.

During the winter, my jeeps might not be ready for pebble beach after a run through a touchless, but they at least have the salt and brine rinsed off.

In the summer I will do a couple of hand washes to really make them shine.

I had a carwash knock out one of my rubicon hood vent louvers. I got the whole incident on dashcam, so they had to replace it.

I have A pillar lights now since then so i don't think i'll ever go through an auto wash again

Touchless for a quick touch up if it's relatively clean, otherwise coin op or at the house.

Never gone through a car wash in my Jeep. 6 months of the year, my top is off, and the other 6 months the soft top is on. So I hand wash.

Found out that in the long run it is much less expensive to get a decent pressure wash and a foam cannon to wash my Wrangler Rubicon 4Xe. Only scratches I get will be from the trail. I love a clean Jeep and at $20 for a car wash in my area... I save a lot of money because I love a clean Jeep.

Any carwash that use brushes is bad. Not only for tearing stuff off they are horrible for the paint. Might as well be using a Brillo pad to clean your vehicle. Might do less damage.
