LMFAO, that was my first sarcastic response too...its just like using them for teen birth control; give them a crying baby for 30 minutes. Kids also usually like to ooze something sticky like maple syrup down there that should deter unclipping, but bad for bugs and bears...Leave the kid in it.
Seriously though, I can't say I have ever heard of a kids car seat getting stolen from a wide open jeep or anybother vehicle.
On the helpful side the latch points are ~1" D rings with ~1/2" clip from the carseat there is plenty of space for a steel cable to run through and up through the openings in the back that the seatbelt would normally go through. Wouldnt cause interference if clipped into the loose space not used by carseat clips.
My 2c: The difficulty in installing and removing carseats is most likely beyond most criminal masterminds, and damaging the seat by cutting the back plastic or the straps makes them inoperable. IF someone needs a carseat that bad I am happy that parent is looking out for that kid, Ill get a new one.
