I have a Graco Snuglock or something like that. My daughter is only 8 months old, though, so not nearly as old as yours. But around 2 you should be switching to a forward-facing position no matter the car, I believe.

It's recommended to have kids in rear-facing seats as long as possible. Sounds like you're getting pretty close to a milestone in her life, usually around 20-25 lbs (avg for kids close to 2y/o) you can switch them to front-facing. With the non-adjustable seats of Wrangler you might not have much of a choice.

@Wrangler847; The best thing to do is to check with a certified child passenger safety technician in your area and they can answer all your questions about the laws for your state and inform you of the best practices. In general...best practice is to leave them rear facing until they are at the max height and weight for the specific seat you are using. While the law may say one thing, if you turn them around too soon...their neck muscles may not be fully developed and internal decapitation can occur in the event of a crash. A lot of parents feel bad for having their children’s legs scrunched up...but a leg injury is a lot easier to fix than a spinal injury.
