They've apparently got enough XR packages to bring back the Beach and High Tide, but can't put XR on the 392? Smells fishy.

I don't want to buy an 392 without the XR package. I also dont want them to discontinue the 392 so Im not sure what to do. I think I will just wait it out for now.

I went in to order a 392 XR this year...and they had discontinued it 3 days earlier 🤦‍♂️
I also won't buy without it.

Don't wait too long. At the rate they are building these, it won't be long before they've got all the confirmed orders they can build this year.

It's easy and relatively cheap to add the stuff in the XR package. Especially since the 392 doesn't really need the shorter axle gearing.

It's $40k to put a 392 in a Wrangler. Plan accordingly.

Ive read this a few times now, Im not too familiar with gearing and all that. I just would prefer to have it from factory with factory warranty.

I enjoy the 4.56's but there's zero reason I'd hesitate to order the 392 without XR. It's just not that vital -- but the gears/tires for $4500 alone are worth it if you can get it. Just nice to have it already done the day you get your jeep -- certainly worth something as well. That said, they're not going to warranty your axles if you break something offroad anyway, so who cares lol. I'd just regear it and call it done, should I ever feel the need. As someone else mentioned, the 3.73's do just fine though.

Ideally though here's probably what I feel would be the ideal gear ratio for tire size on the 392:
33's = 4.10
35's = 4.56
37's = 4.88
39's = 5.13

Again, certainly not needed. Just to keep the performance close to stock with added tire weight of an MT from AT, heavier wheels, added weight from skids, etc.

Get the 392 now 2023 will be last the year according to two different dealers I talked too when getting an oil change done. I wanted the XR but at the time it would have pushed the date further and I wasn't for sure when that high trade value bubble was going to burst + I knew I was going to replace the tires on my 392 anyway.
