Finally, the infamous ambulance! No pics of the inside????
Always wondered about doing an ambulance conversion - I hear they're great platforms to start with. Any chance you can share some photos of the inside?
I'll have to get some inside photos.

There are a lot of pros and cons, way too many to list. But the pros for me:
-The box is effectively a roll cage.
-I'm totally uncreative so I just used all the cabinets already built in.
-Looks like something a hobo drives (accurate), so I'm less worried about theft.

Cons:
-Heavy
-Attracts a lot of attention.

There are some nice rigs posted.

Camping, IMO, is not relaxing. Way too much work. While I miss aspects of loading my 2-door to the roof with crap for a week so I can live like a homeless person in the woods, I don't have a desire to re-live those adventures. And we did have some amazing adventures.

These days, we flatbed the Jeep behind the RV and stay at luxury resorts. Wheel the Jeep during the day, take guided tours. Even that's a lot of work, but it is very comfortable.

I hear ya, but my camping goes like this... I get to the campsite. Set up camp. Sit in my chair. 3 days later I get up out of the chair, pack up camp, drive home. Camping!

Everyone has different needs, desires, agendas...there is no right or wrong when it comes to camping setups. For us, we wanted simple...the Tentrax fit the bill.

Here's my setup. Roof tent is a Rev C6. I love it. It's not the quickest to put up, but it is extremely lightweight and can also be used as a ground tent.

Ok, 2018 JL Sahara pulling 2011 Jeep Extreme Trail Rated Camper. These were taken before a deployment. The Commander stated we are all going to the field and sleeping in tents for three weeks to prepare for our deployment, even the Chief. So Chief (me) brought his own tent. The CO just shook his head and walked off. The other photos are at the Lake Guntersville State Park.

Bonus: I think one of them has a photo of our 1998 Wrangler TJ Sport as well.

What made a major difference for me (with a cost) is to buy a lower cost daily driver for family (2008 GX470) and have my Jeep ready to go with camping gear. I was feeling your pain - especially when weekend camping - of dragging all the gear out of basement/garage and packing up to then tear down a few days later. Having everything but perishables packed makes it easy to jump out and go.

RTT is a gamechanger for set up time as well. And I'm pretty minimalist - a chair, speaker, fire, and bottle and I'm set!

@Smcdowell

What trailer is that or is it a custom one? Looks pretty nice. How does the vertical adjustment of the tent mount work?

(Sorry for any confusion, my first attempt to link to the poster didn't stay when I posted the first time)
