No regrets whatsoever

My JL is a great vehicle I set it up with a Roadmaster base plate and ReadyBrake / ReadyBrute tow setup and usi it as a daily driver and towed behind our Winnebago Vista.

The 2.0 turbo coupled with the 8 speed auto trans is a great setup.

Being the first year of both, I bought the factory extended warranty. LIFETIME that no other manufacture even offers.

No complaints about my Dealer, Thompsons CDJR in Placerville, CA was absolutely great to deal with.

The only regret I have, and it's minor, is not ordering one. I found one that had most of the options I wanted and none that I didn't. I had to take delivery by the end of the year and didn't think I would be able to if I ordered one.

Other than that it's great!

Yes, but were the cookies fresh? lol
Haha, actually, yes. It's a lunch joint and they bake the cookies every morning. When they are out, they're out, which is probably why they don't sell them separately. Haha good business decision for suckers like me because they hook people in with them and now everyone has to buy lunch there just to have it, but it's not like I'm complaining about that either :like:

Only regret is the color I chose (Black). Dealer had exactly what I wanted with exception of the color and that was gonna be custom order (long wait). Drove off the lot that day. So only a minor regret.
What color did you end up with? I ordered Black with the options I wanted. Takes 8-10 weeks after ordering, but willing to wait.

Yep. I totally regret going into the JL. I had a 2015 JK and loved it. It was flawless! But I wanted some of the creature comforts the JL offered, so I took the plunge. I asked for my 2015 back on day 3 of my ownership experience, after a huge transmission leak that left me stuck waiting for hours for a tow truck, and was told "No Way". I've been struck with this beast ever since. I've had problems galore (mostly electrical), but since they couldn't reproduce them in the shop, I've gotten little relief. Videos are of little use to demonstrate my concerns. I'm told "it's operating as designed." If I were a designer I'd be either ashamed of my substandard efforts or pissed at Chrysler for suggesting that this is how this vehicle is supposed to operate. I understand that there is the occasional lemon, and I would have been fine trying to work a deal to get into another 2018 JL, but Chrysler's refusal to do much of anything (they did replace the infotainment unit because of overheating and malfunctions - new one is not much better) has left me determined to look at other options besides Jeeps as soon as I can afford to get out of this one. She looks pretty in the driveway, but she's not good for much else.

The guitarist in my last band was friends with John Petrucci’s guitar engineer. When John got rid of things, my buddy had first dabs. My buddy had an amazing sounding set up.
Oh man, that's so sweet! Did he still have to pay or did he get some sort of discount? Haha I have way too many expensive hobbies and a drum kit is another never ending money sink because things are always being added (more than things are being removed lol) .... I tell myself I would sell this cymbal to get another but what really happens is "well I can make the sound profile of this one work with the new one I am getting too..." which means another stand or arm on top of the cymbal itself. Lol....... And now I have this Jeep. Which I still do not regret buying... Except for now it's just another money pit for me..

After reading all the post about problems people are having with their JL, do you regret buying it?
I traded a 16 JK 2 door for a 18 JL 4 door. I like the looks of my new one better, it rides much better and I love the new auto transmission. I don’t like the auto start/stop , that’s really the only thing I don’t like about it. Some of the frame and steering issues people are having is kinda scary..
I had zero issues out of my JK.
What say you !!
Just picked mine up 10 days ago. JLU Rubicon stick shift, lotsa options. Love it. No issues.

None. We did order it though, didn't buy off of the lot. You have to wait, but better than getting it off of the lot with stuff you don't want/need, or not having stuff you really want.

He got a discount and did get some stuff free. It was always funny when we would play shows, that many of his cases had Dream Theater painted on the side. It always turned into a conversation.

Oh yes, be prepared to spend as much on your Jeep as you do with your music.

Even after having a bad 2018 and exchanging for a 2019 I don't have buyers remorse

love mine. no regrets. my order took about 4.5 months, but well worth the wait.
hardest part is trying not to drive it too much. i live in the boonies and the mileage racks up pretty quickly.

looking back, i probably should have chose cold weather package over steel bumpers. i'm gonna get real steel bumpers soon. but i love that i ordered it with 6 speed MT and tow package to get the aux switches and hd alternator. love theLED lights too. other than that, she's as plain as a rubi gets.

I wouldn't say I "regret" it. I do enjoy it. But my life changed quite a bit after buying my Jeep and what was going to become my weekend camper became my "drive 10 miles a week" garage queen and $50k bill because instead of moving to the PNW like was planned I wound up in Dallas and unfortunately have no desire to camp (or really even go outdoors) anywhere near here. I'm about that forest life.

I'll likely wind up selling it and giving it a try again in a few years. Just not sure it makes sense right now with how recently I bought it and what it'd sell for. This is a depressing post.

Mechanically, no regrets. I've had no problems, but I'm only at around 4k miles (bought in April).
Obviously you have to do what makes sense for you and Dallas is certainly not near the PNW in terms of awesome. But there are some okay places to camp if you don’t mind driving a bit. Hill county, Waco, Oklahoma, Arkansas.

And jeeps do fit it just fine around Dallas

First time Jeep owner here... 18 JLU Rubicon 2.0L. We have been very fortunate in work and life and have had the luxury of changing from one vehicle to the next every few years. We buy domestic... if you (can) still call it that. Generally their higher end stuff. Always new. Don't judge. Our one exception was the MINI !! Bought it off the street to pull behind the RV. It's a freaking grocery cart w/ a Formula One motor. Awesomely fun car to drive. But it does like not going down rocky dirt roads or ditches full of water. It does not care for snowy inclines either. And you can high center it on a dead squirrel. So.. we traded the wifes Caddy for the JLUR. Yesterday afternoon. Last night it threw a code.. on the way home at 30ish miles on the odometer Ends up being EGR related and tomorrow morning I will climb into what hopefully is not a POS rental for who knows how long. Not that I have to cruise it as I have my own and the wife works from home. But that's beside the point. I said all that to say this.. Between her and I and 5 (now grown) kids we have been through about 15 new cars/ trucks/ suvs. I couldn't tell you about the kids cars in the last few years but only once in all those vehicles has my CEL came on. My current, GMC HD ... apparently I don't drive it hard enough... Now I know that I have been VERY lucky in that regard. But it is not possible that ALL the owners that are complaining here (there should be a LOVE IT post to help even it out) had there jeep built after lunch on Fridays. How do all of these issues that are seemingly repetitive make it through original engineering.. build... QC... dealer prep... and into our hands. I don't regret it... can't wait to scratch it up a little and have some old people offroad fun. But not happy dropping 50K and it's errored out before I get it home. PS... sweet little MINI Cooper S for sale. HA

I agree with a lot of your statements. If I was an engineer on the JL, I would be embarrassed about a lot of things.
