I like the look of the Rock Hard Patriot line. They have a steel rear with tore carrier and you can get an aluminum front to keep the weight down up there.
I have the Rock Hard aluminum "Patriot" on my front, and like it a lot! You can see (part of) it in my avatar pic here.

Yeah think I'm headed that way but the mid length
The corresponding mid-length bumper could only weigh less, but even my full-width one still only weighs exactly the same as the stock, mostly plastic bumper (37 lbs). If the weight of it is very important to you.

Weight is part of it but really just like the look of a mid width bumper. I'm going to throw a winch kn it eventually so keeping some weight off the front in form of bumper makes sense.

I like the Patriot rear alos but will likely go steel for the tire carrier. Having the 2 door I want the ability to add a rack over the tire hence the want for a tire carrier.

Dont buy DV8 their rear bumper will mess with your rear body same as the stock steel rubi.

For front I would recommend LoD. I have the rugged ridge arcus and I like it, but if I were to get a new bumper I would get the LoD stubby. The stock rubi steel bumper is also a good choice and you might be able to find a used one for about $500.

For the rear I can't recommend anything. Definitely not the stock rubi or DV8.
Bro you knocked it out the park with the LoD suggestion. That’s what I had in my head but couldn’t find. Also the rubi bumper is good suggestion. That LoD rear bumper is sick, I think it would look good with the rubi front bumper! Thanks for your input. You think unpainted or factory textured? I might go unpainted for the rear and color matched to OEM Metal rubi. I like the freedom of having them painted. Might be more trouble than it’s worth though.

It is up to you and personal preference. I like the black bumpers, black fenders look. But not everyone does.

It depends how much you're gonna wheel your Jeep. A body colored bumper can look clean to some people. But the black textured much easier to touch up from the inevitable trail damage.

And yeah, LoD makes awesome bumpers.

Just ordered an ironman rear bumper. Now we wait.
I LOVE that bumper. The front one looks amazing, maybe my favorite, but they don’t offer a rear with a tire carrier!! That’s the only reason I’m ruling that one out. Unless you know something I don’t!?

You’re right and I plan on doing a lot of wheeling after the bumpers get swapped and I break in new gears. Textured is probably smart.

I kept the steel stock front bumper but went with an Ironman 4X4 rear bumper. So far very happy with the fit, finish and look. They are big in the Toyota and Subaru off road market and now getting into the Jeep arena.

CavFab rear bumpers (at least the ones that are like the Ultra Clearance one that I got) won't flex into your body.

I had thoughts of going with a DV8 rear bumper, but once I started reading up on them in this forum, and elsewhere online, I was rather quickly dissuaded from that idea.

They are very tough. I think you could run them over with a loaded dump truck with out hurting them.

These bumpers will not flex into the body. The rear bumper has taken a lot of abuse with out flying into the body. While the JCR bumper looks tough, my bud had his JCR bump flex into the body.

Another vote for rock hard patriot. I just put a full width aluminum one on the front of my JLU with a Warn 10K winch. The build quality and fitment is top shelf. Factory led fogs fit right in with no hassle and the bumper coating looks like it will take a beating. Also like the integral skid plate. Lots of great choices out there but if you go this route I think you would be happy. I didn’t weigh everything, but going from the stock plastic bumper to the new bumper, winch and shackles I only lost 3/8” of ride height on stock XR suspension.
