Saw somebody on Facebook post a problem with a broken weld and decided to check mine out for the heck of it. Look what I found. Less than a month to EJS now I have to find a good shop that can make this repair.

Easy fix and will be stronger thank factory when it's done. Might as well check everything, be sure you pick a good welder and you'll be fine.

Seems bad welds are a 2018 issue. I've looked at my early '19 several times and found none. But I'll be looking it over again, soon. Thanks for the reminder.

I had looked over all of my welds also reading all the earlier posts about the 2018. All my welds are pretty darn good except this one, and I’ve never checked it before I have no idea how long it’s been like that.

I'm going to go check mine now. It's hard to tell exactly where this is from this close up picture.

not sure the official term I call it the spring seat that attaches to the frame. It’s where the rear spring sits.

What kind of off-roading do you do?? Easy, medium, or extreme??

I basically did a full frame inspection on all of the welds on my mid 2019 build date JLUR. Only found one semi ugly one on a rear shock mount. None of the welds on mine look thin like the OP's weld that's cracked.

Just putting that out there for anyone that may be interested in how quality varied over time.

Has anyone ever had a serious weld problem (separation like the OP's) on anything other than a 2018 model year?

It would be good if we knew the problem was contained to the earlier frames.

I would classify myself as a medium off roader. I do all the Moab stuff up to 6-7 in rating, but I don't push my limits at all. I have a light foot. This is a defect from the factory and nothing more in my opinion.

I have only heard of problems on the 18's. I inspected my welds on many occasions and haven't seen anything of concern until this. Of course I never had inspected this one prior. The other side is still intact and welds look great.
