Hiya, when you removed the fenders can you get to the top of the front body side screw? Or any other ideas? I was installing rock sliders and removing the 3 body side screws from underneath. The first one broke. I tried to drill and tap and dye it out=unsuccessful. The screw was covered in red loctite. This is an anomaly!! No other info on why this was so hard to remove. The other 2 came out easy with impact driver. I was wondering if I can get to the top of the screw by removing the front fender? Any other info would be great. Thank you!

Thank you! I guess you can’t get to them thru the fender removal?!

I needed to buy sliders, so this conversation sure made my choice much easier!

The Roam version doesn't require you to unbolt the body mount.

Did you break that bolt with the impact driver or by hand? Usually an impact driver won't break bolts (unless they are very brittle) because it uses short impacts that won't turn the bolt past it's yield limit. The bolt will just torque and spring back with each impact if the threads don't turn. It's the big breaker bar that usually leads to problems.

The front two body bolts use red loctite (permanent). You need to heat them over 500 F to soften the loctite before trying to remove the bolts with an impact driver (don't use a breaker bar).

No but here's another approach to fixing it:

Removing the fender is the easiest way to gain more access.
