Lol great vid, no doubt she is a leakin!

I'm sure the dealership will make that right if not burn the building down get your pitchforks ready
Our dealership is so bad the cops got called on someone complaining to the GM about the quality of the service department yesterday. It's definitely going to require a glass guy.

Sure would be unfortunate if your windshield got a large chip in it and you had to get a replacement via insurance

That windshield will need to be pulled and then reinstalled. There is no proper/acceptable way to just seal it up while it is in place..

Most Auto Glass installers (the smart ones) will not do this deed unless they have a replacement windshield on hand/in the shop..... WHY .... well, because very very often, when they go to free up / remove a windshield even if it is blemish free the windshield will crack...

I encourage you not to get to caught up with this issue....

Don't let this issue ruin you and your Wife's good feeling about your beauty of a JL....

The fix for this is easy easy and better this type of repair/replacement then say having to have a door repainted or such.

Give me a broken window anytime versus paint / metal damage, etc...

DO KNOW that this will be the first of a few windshields on this JL that you will be replacing... this one is on Stellantis.

When you go to the dealer, ask the Service Writer very politely, to speak to the Service Manager.

Meet the Service Manager and swooze him/her a bit..... Tell him/her you have heard good things about him/her, their Service Department and that you wanted to me him/her personally.

Show the Service Manager your video.. With seeing this video he will undoubtedly, right away just arrange for Windshield replacement with the glass installer they use..

Usually, dealerships take the vehicle to the installers shop or the installer comes to the dealership and does it there...

IF, if you get any static at all from the Service Dept. people, do not argue with them or go round and round with them. Just say you will be back in a few minutes and go outside and call the
Dedicated Jeep Customer Care: Ph. 1-866-362-2146 and have the Rep that answers open a claim for you... At that point the Rep will reach out to the dealer and play lets get this chitt done with them...

Again, with your very good video.... it should be cut and dry so to speak. Again, talk to the Service Manager as I mentioned versus pot lucking it with the Service Writer.

NEVER ever do all this back and forth over the telephone.. Look them right in the eye..... do it person to person...

Oh, you will find your meet and greet with the Service Manager and your swoozing him/her will be a plus in regard to all your future Service Dept. visits...

I also do a meet and greet with the Tech.... before hand ....that will be touching my vehicle...

I always tip the Tech and thank him for treating my vehicle with his best work as/because I am anal about it, so to speak.

Most Techs appreciate a guy/gal that cares and take the time to deal with them and especially tip them... and an owner that really cares about and is knowledgeable about the vehicle he owns..

I just soaped them outside and had my wife blow some compressed air inside. I give you the results……

Now that was a heck of an idea John. Now you know where the leak starts. If your dealer is like mine they contract the glass work out to a glass repair company. I'd much rather have someone with experience to fix it than my dealers body shop. Good luck.

BTW, that's a good looking Jeep for sure.

Ah that is pretty clear. Safelite put in my last two windshields, and did a good job.

I believe that’s where the dealership outsources glasswork.

I‘m happy to hear GG is available.
I think it's finally becoming more available. It took 3 weeks for the glass to show up from the dealer, but now Safelite is quoting they can get it in a few days. So that's cool.

I went by the dealership this morning and they didn't even have someone there today that could start the warranty process submission. The service advisor actually said to me "if you want us to fix it there is a long process". Jeep get your act together, the vehicle has under 100 miles! Those of you with access to multiple dealerships in metropolitan areas are very fortunate. Our local dealership is abysmal. @JeepCares

@onemoreokie

I gave you the number for Dedicated Jeep Customer Care .... call .... use it ...

Forget JeepCares here .....make the call and the Rep will put a fire under the stealerships ass.

Was it the nitwit Service Writer or the Service Manager that blew you off?

So I took your advice and called Jeep. They wouldn't open a claim and said I'd have to continue going through the dealership. They offered to call the dealership and tell them they don't handle that either. The dealership has now said they don't know how to start the claim process and they have a call into their regional rep for guidance. Truly unbelievable how inept of an operation Jeep runs.
