I have 2024 Wrangler Rubicon X that comes with tow package. Everything I look at says that it should be above the OBD connector but that is for JLs 2023 or before. I just can’t find it. Does anyone know where is it? Did they move this for 2024?

It’s there, if you have the factory tow package. I just installed one on a 2024 JL Willys. Hard to find. It’s a grey connector taped up and the pigtail is short. Try using a mirror and a flashlight, and then contort yourself in an unnatural position to reach it. You will have to get the controller harness from the controller manufacturer, or maybe etrailer or Amazon. Mopar doesn’t carry the required male plug/wiring assembly. Curiously, My previous 2019 Grand Cherokee came with the plug/wire, but it had the female plug! One would think that all (formerly) Chrysler products would use the same plug, and have a longer pigtail easier to access. Somebody in the wiring department really slipped up (I’m being nice!).

Did you find it? What plug did you end up going with? I am hoping to reuse my Redarc controller I used in my JK.

If the Redarc harness has a male connector, it will match up to the female connector in the vehicle. Finding a convenient, accessible, but unobtrusive place to mount the controller might be a challenge. My small Tekonsha controller fit nicely on the forward surface of the automatic shifter housing (with Velcro) until the latest 2004+ I/P with the larger screen.
The grey connector in the vehicle is taped to the thick harness up high near the vertical metal support on the extreme left side under the I/P (see photo). It is difficult to find, but a mirror and flashlight helps. Once you can get your hand on it, the tape rips loose easily. See my previous posts to 45caliber. If you need more help, DM me. I have installed a harness in over a half dozen JLs and JTs, and none were easy! The connector was hard to find, even though I knew where to look and what I was looking for. I have several photos and a video.
The other problem I discovered, is that the spare tire on the JL is mounted lower than the JK. I had insufficient clearance between my hitch insert and the tire to connect my trailer. A longer hitch solved the problem. A lower drop would also have worked.
Good luck and happy Jeeping.

Thank you! Found it with the help of the 'unnatural position' advice... LOL

FWIW, I used a jumper from Amazon for a Tekonsha controller, but it was wired wrong at the Jeep end. Thankfully I purchased a digital copy of a full service manual, and was able to swap the wires in the connector and it works fine.

You likely got the Ram truck harness from Amazon. Same connector, but different pin locations. More poor communication at Stellantis. I got my harness from Tekonsha, but it was a tedious search.

Bending in ways I'm not supposed to, and using an inspection mirror plus flashlight, I found it! Readarc sells a $35 harness that goes from that to my existing unit. I just have to find a place to mount the control. That will be fun. Thanks for the tip.
