We had to go winterize the farm house on our property in South Carolina over the weekend before the cold snap hit. Afterwards, we ran to the grocery store to get my wife's uncle some stuff. I found a stack of these Goose Island Bourbon Barrel Stouts. I can't get them in GA because they are >14% ABV. On the way back we stopped at a liquor store I like around Augusta and picked up a couple of the latest batch of Maker's Cask Strength, too. We'll pop the stouts open over Christmas when we have a house full.

just received the first of two bottles from Stranahan's in Colorado. both are 90 proof. but the single barrel Original is really tasty and hits on the nose nicely. ill post the bottles soon as the second makes it.

I just got home from some travels. We headed to Florida for a cruise out of Tampa. There is always good deals on cruises for booze, plus St. Augustine has my favorite flavored whiskey. Salted Carmel and Peanut butter......

I have either bought each of these bottles in the past or tasted them before being them.

These come from St Augustine. They are full of flavor and very smooth. They both taste great neat, but I mix the Salted Caramel iwht Ginger Beer over ice. It is very light and refreshing drink. The Peanut Butler, I drink neat, but cold out of the freezer or over ice.

The Buffalo Trace Bourbon Cream is a favorite cram type booze for me. I have to drive out of state to buy it. It was $16 on the cruise ship and in the States, I typically pay about $32 a bottle. The Tequila Cream was tasty and smooth. It will be a nice drink around the fire on a cool night.

Normally not a rum guy, but Big Black Dick is a great rum. You can only find it on a few islands in the Caribbean. Some of the best Rum I have ever had. The other bottle, I bought after a rum tasting. and had to added it. It was super smooth and tasted great.

When in Mexico, one must buy a good bottle of Tequila. I like smooth tequila. It is hard to find at times. I find tequila to only be in two different catagories. Either it taste like gasoline and makes you take your cloths off and run around in a Burger King parking lot buck ass naked or smooth and tasty and worth sipping that is warm going down. A pleasant drinking experience,

I will have these bottle with me to share at camp while spending the next 4 months camping, wheeling and hiking in the southwest. Wednesday, we head to Grand JunctionColorado, then to Moab for about three weeks during Easter Jeep Safari. Then western Utah, Nevada, Arizona, maybe some of Southern California......maybe if we get that far west. New Mexico and back to Colorado in late May, early June and get home at the end of June. Or at least that is the rough plan.

What did you think? I got these for ~$65-70 and it's good, but not worth the hype and the inflated prices places have been wanting for it. For the money and the ease of getting it, Maker's Mark Cask Strength wins every time for me. The Green River Cask Strength is a pretty solid wheater too.
