Which one? I personally like them all, but am really a fan of the dark rye!Anybody try Basil Hayden yet? I picked up a bottle the other day on the recommendation of a friend.
It's the straight bourbon, not the dark ryeWhich one? I personally like them all, but am really a fan of the dark rye!
The straight bourbon is pretty tasty. For my taste it doesn't have the depth of flavor that say reservoir bourbon, or the Heaven hill has, but it is in my circle of regular drinkers. It's the straight bourbon, not the dark rye

Basil Hayden is quite tasty. It's a lower-proof so it's an easy drinker. The mash bill is high-rye, so it's a great intro if you're interested in getting into the full-rye whiskies. It's the straight bourbon, not the dark rye
You and @FLjeeper are on opposite ends of this dark rye. I just recently started drinking rye. Bulleit and Sazerac have been pretty good so far.Basil Hayden is quite tasty. Also, you can always find it and it's not marked up 300% of it's actual worth!
Also, stay away from the Dark Rye. It's rather terrible.
The thing I don't like about most pure-rye whiskies is the minty flavor they all seem to have. The ones I do enjoy are Rittenhouse, Old Pepper Single Barrel Rye, and Michter's Toasted Barrel Rye.You and @FLjeeper are on opposite ends of this dark rye. I just recently started drinking rye. Let us know how it is!While outside of Rochester last week, some colleagues and I decided to check out Iron Smoke Distillery in Fairport, NY.
Liked it enough to bring some home (which required me to check my bag, ugh).
The Parkers Heritage have been rather hit-or-miss for me. I've really only ever tried 2 of them that I enjoyed. I have had Pikesville Rye. I enjoy it but not enough to buy a bottle. Peerless makes a good one too. I just haven't felt the need to buy another bottle after finishing my first one.I love full rye whiskies. Parkers Heritage makes a really good one. Reservoir has a really complex tasting rye that I very much enjoy. I also have to mention the Whistle Pig line, 10, 12, and 15 yr offerings are excellent. I'll have to check out the Old Pepper Single Barrel Rye.
@MRH512 if you like Rittenhouse, have you tried Pikesville Rye? I really enjoy both and generally anything that comes from Heaven Hill.
