Have not cracked the top on the CASKet Strength yet. But… the Small Batch makes a delicious Old Fashioned.Let us know how it is!

That's a hella good friend, with excellent taste no less... *thumbs up*My buddy hasn’t come through with the King of Kentucky, yet, but he showed up with a little Birthday surprise. So fortunate to have a friend that travels around the country and does not drink.
Whiskey can't help but for Bourbon I honestly would just go grab a bottle of Woodford Reserve. Easy to find. Right in the middle. Fair priced. Great drinking bourbon straight or mixed.I have read through this thread with great interest and now would appreciate your advice. Even after reading all of those post, I don't know where to start. I'm brand new to drinking whiskey in spite of being 68 years old. I have recently retired and no longer have the restrictions that kept me from enjoying alcohol all my adult life.
Serious question: What would you recommend as a good whiskey for a previous nondrinker to start out on?
Elijah Craig was my gateway to bourbon and a good place to start. It’s always solid. The last post mentioned Woodford Reserve - the Double Oaked is very smooth. You can add a little ginger ale and ice if you want to make it a bit easier to drink. Cold weather helps, as does having someone make you a really good old fashioned. Good luck and welcome to the club. What would you recommend as a good whiskey for a previous nondrinker to start out on?
