Bolt through Roof Rack

Alright Jeepers I need some help finding a product. I’ve been searching the forum and google for way to long now.

I’ve seen a roof rack that bolts through the hard top and mounts to a internal brace system. If I remember correctly it had a “cage” that would sit down below the side windows bolt into the factory tub locations and then extend up to the roof. I am not taking about the Maximus 3 system.

Basically I want a system that comes on and off with the hard top without unbolting.

Nope neither one of them.
I’ve been working my way through the roof rack thread. It’s a great thread but when it’s 35 pages long it can kind of lose it’s focus and mine. After more searching I’m thinking it’s probably the Rhino Rack Backbone system that I cam across once. From what I can tell it’s not available for the JL yet.

You're talking about the Canadian MBRP JKU racj--it bolts thru the hardtop sides(16 SSBOLTS) using internal Galvanized stantions that bolt to the Hardtop TUB ATTACHMENTMENTS-

I don't know if they MFG for the JL--check website

Rhino Rack makes one, that sounds like what you describe, but it appears to be for the JK.

Sounds like you are looking for the Rhino Rack Backbone. They had a JL version at SEMA but it has not been released yet and has no expected delivery date...

This is definitely the system that I was looking for so I emailed them today and this was their response.

“Thank you for contacting Rhino Rack! At this time the ETA for the JL is unknown, it looks like they had to change something else as they were doing more testing which has now delayed the ETA.
