Blacked out emblems

For some reason, I am struggling with Plasti Dip. I'm sure it is entirely an operator issue. One side worked out great and the Plasti Dip pulled off the paint and around the Jeep letters just fine. However, on the passengers side, when I pull the Plasti Dip off the paint, it also pulls it off the small red trim around the Jeep letters. When this happened the first time, I peeled all the Plasti Dip off and started over. Same thing happened again, on a different letter. I am applying 6 coats and allowing about 20 minutes between each coat. Is 6 coats too much?

You need to score the edges with a blade/knife. Also 6 coats is a bit extreme.

I thought about 6 coats being a lot. I'll tone it down a little a try again.
