Hated the bright billboard on the side of my jeep so instead of taking off the emblems I used some plasti dip. First time using that stuff and I have to say it’s pretty awesome. Next up need to black out the grill and fog light surround but will probably paint that.

I have a black sahara as well...I've already done the grill and headlight buckets in plasti-dip, they drove me nuts being silver!

I've been on the fence about doing these, but you just sold me... so thanks!

Edit-only pic I’ve got on my phone but it gives you an idea of the headlight buckets and grill in plasti-dip

Plastidipping the keyhole is brilliant. I need to do that on mine.
I did cut out where the key goes just in case. Will probably never use it but was afraid the plasti dip would get stuck inside if I ever used the key and cause an issue.

Looks good. Did you take the parts off the jeep to do it or just tape it?

Also what tires/lift?

You're definitely going to want to disassemble the whole grill just to make sure. I did 6-7 coats or more because I wanted it to stand up to rock chips.

i have mastercraft courser MXT 35x12.5's and a Rough country spacer lift

How big is that lift? I want to stay as little as I can. No need for anything real high

Ya I figured it would be easier to disassemble.

I removed some badges and plastidipped the rest, replaced the silver Sahara grill and fog lamp trim with black. I love the look.

Thanks! Those are 285/70/18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on 9in Fuel Beast wheels with a +1 offset. The tires measure out at 34in.

I’m currently using a Traxda leveling kit - it’s 1.5in in the front and 1in in the rear. But I am considering purchasing some Rubicon takeoff suspension which should add another 0.75-1in lift.

For the black grill and fog lamp trim - I purchased the mopar unpainted parts and installed them as such. I didn’t want to plastidip the silver ones in case they got scratched or chipped. I think I paid around $150 total for the parts. Installation was easy.

Nice. Does that lift give you enough for going off road, or at least eliminate any rubbing?

That’s pretty good price for those parts. Did you leave them as they came or paint them?

Did mine yesterday, Love the look!
Nice. If you don’t want the wrangler sticker mine came off really easy. I used a hair dryer to warm it up and it peaked right off. Did not even leave any residue.
