@NTX Black Moab

Like any lugnut, they will get marred/damaged if abused with an impact wrench.

Discount Tire and similar, will do not use an impact gun if you talk to them ahead of time.

IF I don't do my own rotation, I tell the tire guy, no impact wrench and I slip him $10 before he goes near my vehicle.

Not even considering the lugs, I do not want an impact gun used, period!

For those that have used these before, how well do the lugs wear over time? When we have to use spares or when we rotate, so not often, but they will be used. More specifically, I guess I'm asking how @Discount Tire would handle them.
Hi, NTX Black Moab - thanks for the tag!

I do not have any personal experience with this particular product but we can certainly order this kit for you if that's the direction you want to go.

As for how'd they would be handled, I'm not sure I follow what you're asking - can you elaborate?

I would assume he was referring not to your shop specifically but Tire Shops in general as far as using impact wrenches on the lug nuts.
I do all my own wheel mounts, dismounts, rotations so I avoid any problems that impacts can cause.

Like Rhinebeck01 mentioned, if you specifically request that no impact be used most shops should honor that request, or deny your business.

Not that I would need these handled with kid gloves, but if I asked to not use an impact wrench, can that be done? Y'all have done all the wheels and tires on all my vehicles for the last decade (probably a lot longer than that) and that's not gonna change. So the question is directed at Discount Tire since you'll be doing any future work on my Jeep.

First and foremost, thank you for your continued support of Discount Tire, NTW - we greatly appreciate it!

I can certainly appreciate your concern and while we do have best practices in place for handling lug hardware properly, yes, absolutely, if you prefer the hardware be tightened down a certain way speak with the manager or senior assistant manager when you check in and they'll gladly accommodate your request :like:

Does anyone have a pic of stock rubi wheels with black lugs instead of the OE chrome ones? Debating swapping mine out.

Also, are there any lugs that hold up better to impacts than others? Or they all get effed up the same.

See post #23. I've got the optional Rubi wheels, but it should be close enough.
