My gosh! That was intense. I plan to do Black Bear next summer - but I hope I never get caught in the trail in weather/conditions that severe. Those boulders could have easily killed someone....
Yeah I saw it a few days ago. Knew it had to be recent 'cause of the fear masks hanging on the dash.
The irony is that they were on the "car" part of the road, well below anything challenging....well not that anything on Black Bear is challenging. The equipment operator did a great job clearing the slide I'd say.
All of the rocks coming down the mountain while they were on the switchbacks, especially the basketball sized rock going over the Jeep in front, had me scared for them. That could have ended very badly for someone.
Pretty cool video. Shows how fast conditions can change(anywhere) when wheeling. Also to always be prepared to get stranded. Only critique is I wish the driver would have put the damn radio down and operated his vehicle.
