I am planning on moving out of the Vegas area in a few months and want to run as many of the nearby Badge of Honor trails as I can before then. These include the trails at Big Bear. Does anyone have any plans on running these trails within the next couple months? Mind if I tag along?

Rig specs in signature and I'm not a noob.

If you run Holcomb Creek, you should wait until the snow and ice are gone. This Jeep slid off the off-camber shelf road section of the trail that's about a mile from the west trailhead.

There's a group/club that meets up every first Thursday of each month to run the trails. Everyone gathers up at the "Elks Lodge" near by in Redlands at around 8am I believe.

Yea I'd wait for the snow to melt, I once went up a trail that had no snow on the start of a trail, then while almost at the top there was snow and coming down it was nice and was not fun, took hours to come down, sliding out of control going 1-2 mph, couldn't steer or get traction.

I almost got rear ended And missed me by a few inches, a Bronco would have hit me and knocked me down the mountain, also lightly ran into a tree and a mountain side going down.

Everyone who got out their vehicles slipped and ate shit, one guy fractured their hand/arm.

I still need chains too.

I was just up in Green Valley/Arrowhead last weekend. Didn't hit any trails because of the snow (<1 foot in most places), most of it was melting quickly which created a lot of ice in the mornings and late afternoons. Day time was a slush fest and a complete shit show if you ask me. With more snow coming this weekend, I would expect these type of conditions to hold at 6k'+ through the end of the month unless a major warm up comes through before then.

Thanks for the advice. Snow was one thing I was worried about so I will wait a little while until it warms up. Maybe I can get them done in April or May. I still need to hit Crown King and Hole in the Rock so those will probably be first.
