I find it funny that BMW is rated so high while Benz is in the gutter area between Chevy and VW 😂

I actually can't stand either brand, but a few of the German lux brands have been cutting a lot of "luxury" out of their vehicles lately, unless you go super lux 😅

Especially Audi. There are some VW's with better interiors...which is insane given the price differences lol

Yeah, at least the Wrangler has kept its off-road credibility and become nicer to drive with each generation.

Not exactly sure why anyone would buy a non Wrangler Jeep.
I want to agree with you but the reality is without those people buying non Wrangler Jeeps, we probably wont have a Jeep Wrangler today.

I pay about as much attention to consumer reports as I do my ex wife.

that might be the best thing that could happen to/for the wrangler...I would vote let a company like Mazda or some one like that....sure a USA company would be great...but who?

It’s a Jeep thing, you wouldn’t understand.
I know a couple of people that bought non Wrangler Jeep.

My neighbor went to buy a Wrangler, and brought home a Renegade

A friend when to buy a Wrangler, and his wife decided the Liberty was a better choice for them.

Some stranger with a Compass parked next to me at Costco, struck up a conversation, and said he choose the Compass because he wasn't a fan of the convertible or something like that, as he rambled on it seems he thought the only difference between the two Jeeps, was the convertible, and the bigger wheels on the Wrangler.

I also don't know anyone else with a non Wrangler Jeep, or another Stellantis vehicle .

My wife drove a Patriot (6 speed auto, not the cvt) for 150,000 plus trouble free miles working midnights in Illinois winters. The awd system was flawless in the snow, and she still speaks fondly of her old Patriot.

Grand Cherokees are very popular around here, too.

Really? The answer is simple: Their use-case is different from yours.

My wife shuttles grandkids around, occasionally in snow and ice, and her Grand Cherokee L provides comfortable seating for six, in a vehicle that’s comfortable, smaller than a suburban or tahoe, and delivers decent fuel economy. The smaller size was critical for my wife, as she’s vertically challenged, and she frequently shops in the land of virtue-signaling, where 70% of the parking spots are sized for a Toyota Prius. If we were shopping for a replacement today, we’d also look at the Highlander, but that wasn’t an option when we bought the GCL.

People buy the vehicle that meets their planned use at a price they can afford. It’s not complicated.

Agree. Happy with our 2 jeeps. Drove my folks Subaru over thanksgiving. Felt like a tin can & yelled at me for taking my eyes off the road. WTF?
I don’t own a Subaru, but I have two kids who do, and their experience has been amazing. They don’t wheel for fun, but they’re both cheap, and they ski, surf, ice-climb, mountain climb, wind-surf, and scuba dive. Their painfully boring Subarus are equipped to haul all that crap, and they do it economically. Both Subaru wagons were purchased new. One is somewhere north of 80,000 miles, and the other has over 140,000 miles. They have changed the oil and replaced tires and wiper blades. Zero problems.

I’ve also seen Subaru drivers survive very violent crashes and, in one case, a 15 minute running gun battle. (When that vehicle was finally disabled, it looked like it had been in Fallujah during the worst of it. Lots of bullet holes, shattered or missing glass, and flat tires, but the bad guy survived. When the hatchback was opened, five or six deformed bullets fell on the ground..)

Generally, the one with the most lug nuts wins in crashes, so I’d prefer to have all my kids and grandkids in suburbans, but if they’re gonna be in an econocar, the boring Subaru wagons are a decent choice.
