I cannot with a clear conscience recommend X-bull winches to my fellow jeepers. Their customer service is non existence and here is what happened to my clutch within 2 months of ownership.

Just the rusty handle your concern, or does it not function?

That looks like a pretty clean winch install with a plastic bumper. I'm gearing up to attempt it on my Rubicon. Do you have anymore pics by chance?

Look at this one, I have had mine since 10/2019 with no issues... I do keep a cheap cover on it, but only started doing that after the first 6 months or so because the red wire was fading.

It functions still although the clutch is getting a little harder to turn. The bumper is not plastic. It’s a Rugged Ridge Venator.

looks great! do you know which plate you used for the install? How much space do you have in between the winch and the grille? lastly what are you using to cover up the wires? TIA

It may not be a popular opinion, but a winch is not something you buy on a "budget" or in the "value" isle IMO.

A warranty does not mean a damn thing when in the woods and the winch burns up or breaks. Warn has been the number 1 name in winches sine before most current jeepers were born. I would no go with their China hybrids either.

Save up and buy one of the high quality ones. My last warn was the XP9.5 Warn... it was stupid fast but it pulled when others winches burned up.

My next one will be a warn but it's not high on my list of things to add yet, other stuff comes first. Also as others have said NEVER wheel alone and 99 times out of 100 a strap is all you need.

lastly what are you using to cover up the wires?

I just installed the VR 10 EVO on the Elite bumper and the wires are very close the grill.

What size power & ground cable does Warn use. What size wire loom do you need to cover?

It’s been said before but I’m a personal fan of Badlands Apex 12,000 Synthetic line winch. Since their arrival I’ve installed them on many Jeeps including my own and car haulers. Religious used and never have let me down. Harbor Freight runs specials on them from time to time for about $499.

If I could redo my purchase I'd go with the Quadratec Stealth 10k w/sync line I think for around $500. Definitely nothing wrong with my Warn VR 10S but think I could have saved a couple hundred bucks and had a near identical product.
