Any luck yet?
Outback Adventure Products, creator of the Trailgater Table, provides zero customer service after sale. You aren't even important enough to respond to. I love the product, but I recently needed to move my table from one JL to another and Outback Adventure Products would not respond to multiple emails and phone calls asking to buy new clips. I emphasized that I was happy to pay, but crickets.

So if you like terrible customer service, go ahead and buy one. I was eventually rescued by members of this forum who could direct me to a vendor that still has some of the (custom) clips in stock. Otherwise I would have had a very pretty, but useless, table.

A shame. I cannot understand vendors who ghost on customers after a sale.

I am using the Rugged Ridge with a couple of mods. I like that the bas table folds out and gives a bigger overall lower table than most and that is has some sides for wind protection when using a propane stove. The upper table can be down or up when in use. I bought some 3M felt Furniture pads and used 5 of them to separate all the metal plates from each other when folded. Then I added a Titan strqp that goes between the tail gate and the table. I cinch it all together when traveling and get no rattles at all.

Just to throw this idea into the mix, a while back I made a cargo enclosure out of wood to split this area's height for more efficient storage of gear. It has two vertical members and a horizontal top that flips up (after I move the cargo cover out of the way) in case I'm hauling something tall.

I eventually built pieces to extend it into the cab when the back seats of my JLU are down, even to work as a sleeping platform.

Anyway, more to point, when the Bronco was introduced I thought its tailgate table that slides out from the cargo area was ingenious

and with my cargo box already built, I installed heavy duty sliders on the vertical members to recreate this.

I thought of something like this as a DIY but I didn’t want to have to reach for access to my fridge and stuff while deployed. Also wanted to preserve storage volume in my 2dr ‘rocklander’ build.

Reviving an old thread....are there any issues with the tailgate tables blocking the rear tailgate air vents? Looking at AAL or Trailgater, but ended up in a deep dive about how the tailgate vents helps depressurize the cabin. Anyone have any issues? I may be overly-analyzing/anal about this but can't find much info about it

it's a valid factor most people don't seem to want to think about.

people don't like to think about things like interfering with airbag deployment when they're making their J**ps cool.

I have the AAL Versa table. Zero issues. It does not seal off the vents.

I believe the AAL Versa table intentionally leaves air gaps between the table mount and tail gate. I’ll post a follow up after I get mine installed this weekend.

Ran the Trailgater on two JL’s. Never noticed any issue at all. Doors closed easily…and dust still managed to get inside just fine through those same vent holes unless you turned the dash vents on a healthy setting to push some air out of the vehicle.

Thanks all for the responses. I figured enough people have tailgate tables without issues for there be a lack of posts regarding this, but just figured I'd throw it out there. Love the look of the AAL (and Molle plate) but like the pull out cutting board on the Trailgater......decisions, decisions!

Not with the Front Runner table that I have. It uses a through-hole mounting design, meaning the OEM vented plastic tailgate panel remains in situ, and with an air gap between it and the table itself.

It's a valid concern, and it's good that the subject is on your radar.
