i change my oil in wrangler sport unlimited 2021 every 3000 miles . i installed a baxter oil filter kit about 8 months ago. i use a mobil 1 m1 -212a oil filter . i changed the oil this weekend as well as filter. i noticed twice after first run up the road yesterday mainly when i gave it a little gas the oil pressure hit 60 psi for just a couple seconds and then fell back to 30 psi. any chance the check valve could be sticking in the oil adapter?

Even if it were sticking, it would seem strange for the pressure to rise even momentarily. I would reach out to Kevin at Baxter Performance. He is very responsive and can assist.

Hm, I will have to double check, but I'm pretty sure my stock Wrangler see the oil pressure increase on acceleration. I have seen 50 psi briefly.

It will, but the OP said "a little gas". Unless really cold, I would not expect to see 60PSI. The second stage kicks in at about 3K and can go up to just shy of 80PSI.

Watch your RPMs vs. Speed. If you go 3,000 or higher, the second stage of the oil pump kicks in and the pressure will rise.

they said that was normal that it does have a two stage oil pump. i bought a ms201bk by baxter for my wrangler sport unlimited 2021. i had to buy a 8x12x1/4 aluminum plate for $20 on amazons to move the pump that is located towards the front from the oil filter. i think it has 4 small bolts that hold the pump in place if you dont move the pump the new filter will not fit. you cut it to fit .make sure you turn the new filter on by 10 turns mark the top of the filter so you know what ten turns are. i didnt at first and the next day after engine had cooled i got ready to leave and dump all the new oil on the floor of my basement ,now 10 is the turns for the filter not the adapter unit.

very easy to do i laid a piece of card board under the pump mount drew out the shape cut and drilled four holes. i think the little bit of work was worth it. i also installed a catch can

Nothing in their video or installation guide about moving any pump.

i have a 2021 sport unlimited wrangler. they told me they were hoping to come out with a different setup because he said it wasnt listed for my jeep but all that was required was moving the vacuum assist pump forward about 1 inch so the filter can can be screwed and unscrewed without running into the back of the pump

I thought I should post some information I got from Kevin Baxter in this thread as a placeholder of the information.

Here's my question and the Baxter reply:

We have a discussion going on about dry starts on the Pentastar on a Jeep forum. One member discounted the value of the Baxter system, stating that the outflow valve setting of 30 psi was too high and the time to reach 30 psi was a limitation/delay on getting oil to the engine. I believe he was using your recommended 30 psi minimum to purge the filter for oil changes, as an indication of the outflow valve pressure minimum. Please clear up what your outflow valve opening pressure is.

Thank you.

____
Hello ....,
Your assessment is correct, the outflow check valve in our adapter only requires 2 psi to open and does not affect operational system oil pressure. We recommend 30 psi minimum to evacuate the oil filter and to backflow the oil pickup tube in the oil pan to dislodge debris on the pickup tube screen for a more effective oil change. To be clear, the air is introduced below the infeed of the oil filter and does not backflow the oil filter.
Thanks,
Kevin
