Who is running a Baxter oil filter adapter and what do you think of it?
I am currently running it on my 60 oz medium shag carpet. I think the value is still questionable, most certainly as it's currently mounted.

Yes. If all engineers had complete control of the end product there would be 100s of thousands people alive today.
We have all seen it cost cutting decision that affect all of use.
If they had made a updated oil filter housing that doesn't leak and holds oil it would have cost them 100s of millions.
So we suffer for there cost cutting decision.
And let's face it, engineers will work on a project forever, unless there is a schedule and budget.

Not disagreeing with you in this example, but sometimes the bean counters override the decisions of the engineers.
That and a thing called planned obsolescence.

I purchased mine from my local 4x4 shop.
North ridge sells the and you should be able to fined a discount coupon.

I actually bought mine from NORTHRIDGE4X4. I ordered (1) a few months ago, and they were soooo generous, that they sent me a case of (10) of them! I picked up the box from my front porch and wondered why it was soo heavy. lol!
I ended up calling them to inform them of their mistake and ended up sending 9 back.
I was hoping they would at least send me a gift card or a coupon for my next purchase but.... oh well.

I have one. I believe it is better for the engine if cold starts begin with a full oil filter, not a drained one. It is a quality piece of work and I think its value is unquestionable but the price is high so you have to make a value vs price decision.

I don't like the OEM housing and cartridge filter because 1) it drains down, and 2) I can never be sure it didn't crush or twist the cartridge on install. The few times I changed the cartridge oil filter it was bent and slightly twisted, including the one it came with new. It was probably fine but it bothered me.

The adapter comes with install instructions that are easy to follow.

The adapter is pretty heavy and the recommended filter is larger than stock and sits higher up than stock. The extra weight is a valid concern with regard to cracking the filter/cooler base but I'm not concerned. Time will tell.

Draining the spin-on filter using compressed air works well. I changed my filter yesterday and not a drop of oil was spilled. I still recommend putting rags/towels around the area just in case, though.

Most people are under the impression that the oil filter housing is what drains down put in fact its the hole filter housing and the oil cooler that drain down back to the oil pan.
That's a lot of air that now has to be pushed though the oil galleys.

Can't remember if you have etorque or not, but apparently they won't fit on etorque equipped 3.6's.
Yep, Etorque.

Ok, thanks a lot Tom I didn't know that. 👍

You might inquire with Baxter to see if the MR-202-BK fits. It's the remote filter adapter with the same features. You'll need a remote filter mount to go along with it. You can use 90 or 45 fittings instead of the provided straight fittings in this picture.
