Hi all,

So I noticed after every single time I fill my tires with my compressor. The ESS system goes into "battery protection mode".

It is strange. Both my batteries are new and I have no issues at all. Yesterday after offroading I got the message and I drove back home and when I got home the message changed to "battery charging". This is really strange because both batteries were fully charged after the drive back home. I also had to use my winch to pull an XR up a steep hill (boulder) about 1 hr before we were done wheeling.

I checked fuse N3 with my ohm meter, checked my alternator. Everything seems fine and ESS working this morning (next day).

My compressor pulls 36-50 amps. My theory was that the battery got hot after using the compressor. But I was a bit perplexed when I saw the message batteries charging.

Anyone else experience this?

Did you have the Jeep running while using the compressor?

How would you define fully charged?
I checked with a Voltimeter. 12.7 volts both of them. And today the Jeep and ESS is working flawlessly.

I also checked my alternator voltage and it is over 14 volts.

I checked one I got home. Driving home I monitored the voltage which I often do. As soon as I leave the trail the alternator was running cause it was showing 14volts. After about 20 minutes it was dead on 12.7 until I got home. So the batteries are charging.

I don't have an on board compressor setup and mine is always in battery protection mode following a day of wheeling...
