Mine is currently laying on my bathroom floor. Not sure why it's there, but I have no plans to put it back on.

Throw it in the trash with the hood liner that's also useless...or at least that's what I did.
I would definitely not throw away the hood liner that is designed to protect the pain from engine temperatures that’s why every single car has them

It's designed to make the vehicle quieter, which is why NO vehicles had them before everyone got soft. Between 2 JLs and my JT we have 130k miles and no paint issues. And we wheel in the desert when its 120⁰ outside.

Google the oem Mopar part number and their description is a ā€œhood silencer padā€œ. Maybe their marketing department dropped the ball when naming it🤷 Maybe not.
This has been debated ad nauseum. I’d like to see some real data, not speculation or educated guesses, that it protects the paint or reduces the sound in any appreciable way. I don’t mind my engine compartment dust, but weirdly the dust on the hood liner along with the water stains bugs me. I know, what a serious first world problem. But I’m about ready.to rip it out so I can hear the glorious sounds of my minivan motor.

Why doesn't the paint melt off the hoods of the hundreds of thousands of vehicles without hood liners? Why doesn't it melt off the fenders? The cowl? The firewall? Maybe because paint doesn't melt at under hood operating temps period?

That’s fine. I get it but if you look outside of this thread, there are other cars that have had problems with removing this and what it’s done to the paint they make cheap paint to each his own šŸ‘ I’m on Long Island. I don’t deal with the dust like that and our temperature is on the extreme so it’s really not a problem for me. All I do is beach when I do go offloading. If anything I may take off the beauty cover, cause that thing probably traps heat

And the hood blanket doesn't? I added functional vents to the JLUR hood which was the original reason for removing it. On my JT mojave I opened the hood scoop and added a light bar behind it so again no hood liner.
