Baja Fog Light Wiring help

Not sure if anyone has experience here but I have a pair of Baja Squadron Sport Fog lights to go with a new Fab Fours aftermarket bumper. I want to use the existing fog log switch in my JLU Sport but the only way I have seen this done is removing the old fog light wiring and splicing the cables to make it work.
Does anyone have experience here or can confirm that’s the only way to make this work?
