I bought a pair of led pod lights for my 2023 JLU and wired it to the stock aux 3 location which 15 amps and I was wondering if should’ve wired it to 40 amp aux 1 location cause I later noticed that their 100w each pod at 12v and I can’t find anything to where it says how many amps it draws can anyone shed some light on these matter?

Mine are 100w each so that’s why I was asking I’ll tried to contact them but for some reason it would give me an error code while trying to them an email

What fuse is on the included wiring? If it's over 15 I'd consider swapping to Aux 1 or 2.

100W x 2 should be close to the 15W at 12.8V, but you don't want to fuse on the ragged edge. Just depends where they are rated.

You'll be fine on the 15 if that was for both. They were generous with the wattage rating if it's per light, or the rating is for the pair. 100W is around 7.5 amps.

Assuming you used the harness included with the lights, you should be safe to let the Aux 3 15A fuse answer your question; if it blows move the lights to one of the 40A switches.

watts/volts=amps so 100/12.8=7.8125amps

so pair will pull 15.625 amps. you're on the edge but who knows if they are ACTUALLY pulling 100watts.

OP can you post a link to what you purchased?

Did you wire them directly off the aux switch power wires?

Here is the link, I wired it to the aux 3 with the black wire going to negative battery terminal and red going to the aux 3 wire.
