2023 Jeep Wrangler Diesel
Hello All -

Many moons ago I had an '86 CJ7! It was my dream car at the time and to be fair probably still is :) . As time went on and my business started to grow I had to move into diesel pickup trucks for work and family. Not that I am older our need for towing trailers etc have gone, so my wife and I decided to buy another Jeep. Being a diesel guy, we went looking for a slightly used diesel JL. As luck would have it I found a BRAND NEW never registered 30 mile 2023 Jeep Wrangler Diesel JL on a dealers lot in California! And the rest is recent history! I had the jeep shipped back east and just took delivery :) .

Now to my questions.
  • Does anyone recommend of have any knowledge on programers? Superchips, Tazer?
  • Recommendations on diesel Tuners? Banks Derringer with the Peddle monster?
  • Can you have the tuner installed and still use the programmer for tire size, auto start/stop etc?
  • potential recommendations on a cold air intake?
any "must have's" for a 4-door Jeep owner that I should look at?

Thanks in advance!

Make sure you inspect everything that's rubber. None of that has been lubricated for 2+ years.

There's a crapload of things you can do to it, but consider simply driving it for a while before making mods.

If you plan on using it as intended then start with an air compressor.

Thanks John! That is exactly what we're doing now. I plan on driving it for a bit for sure . At least while I get things ordered ;-).

What compressor do you recommend?

Depends on how frequently you plan on using it and your budget. I bought a Smittybuilt for my first one just to get started, then ended up with an ARB Dual with a Kraken that fits under the passenger seat and airs up all four at once.
