I have a 2022 Rubi with a 3.5 MT and put an (ETL performance) axle back on. Pretty inexpensive but it looks nice and gives it a very mild tone. I did notice what seemed like power loss but it didn't seem bad and loved the duel black tip style. I then put 35's on and on the highway I spent alot of time bouncing between 4th and 6th. I went to a jeep invasion this past weekend and separated the muffler so essentially ran a muffler delete. On my way back to my camper it actually sounded pretty nice (kinda loud for a daily though) but I noticed I didn't have to shift at all really. I was actually able to accelerate in 6th. Just wondering if anyone knows if I went with a better axle back, will I keep that gain? Does anyone think it's worth spending an extra $500 for say the aFe or will any muffler restrict and cause loss? I do have the aFe momentum air intake. Should I go with an aFe axle back? Appreciate any input or advice on this thanks!

Placebo. Mufflers aren’t restrictive enough to matter.

Not sure I follow, you think I wasn't really seeing a difference in my need to downshift to accelerate with and without the muffler?

It doesn’t matter. Unless the muffler was built wrong and is completely restricting air flow (which it isn’t) then it isn’t restricting flow. It’s not relevant.

First it's a 3.6L not 3.5. and I agree with the above posts. If you have a real power loss due to your muffler then, it's complete junk and you should throw it away asap.

Yeah not great texting, I knew the engine displacement. That's actually why I asked but according to the above it has nothing to do with the muffler and I guess I don't know how to drive stick lol. Thanks for the reply, I'm just going to spend the extra and get a reputable system. I appreciate the response.

Find some roads with good long inclines. You'll find out what gears have power at what RPMs pretty quick. Im on hills in traffic everyday, trial by fire is a good teacher that will leave ya with a sore knee.
