Hey'all,
I've been running two KC lights on the brush bar from Aux 1 just fine for a while.
Last week I put up a 6-pack of KC on the overhead cross bar.
I wired three of them to an Aux, and three to another Aux. I turned it on and everything was working.
When I got back in my Jeep a few hours later, none of them were working.
The lights on the switches still come on, and I checked for blown fuses.
I likely just did a crap wiring job, and need to start from scratch, but figured I would check in for any tips before I go putting an hour into all that mess.
How many can I put on a switch? And do the wire colors correspond with the two that have bigger amperage (40?) vs. the two that have less (15?)
@KC HiLiTES I love your lights, but man a tidy wiring harness for a bar would be great.

Thanks!

If you go to the KC website, look for the lights you used, and click on details, it will tell you what the amp draw is. You may be able to use just one of the AUX switches if they are LED.

This video helped when I wired up my lights and winch solenoid.

Yes, the aux wiring correspond to the amperage, which corresponds to the wattage.

You can have them work with the ignition on, or just battery. Do you know what the settings are and whether you were trying to use them that way?

Hello Bruce,
We have a couple of kits that you could be referring to. Some of the set ups come with a plug and play harness. Other are for more custom installs. I'll send you a private message and I can help you figure out your wiring.

There is no more juice flowing to the aux wiring. The aux lights on the dash illuminate however.

I have found out that if you use some types in just battery mode, and your amperage load is excessive, they will not work (depending on battery health). I believe the AUX line has a low current sensor for the batt and shuts off high power draws. Turning the engine on lights them up on the reg.
