The ESS doesn’t drive me crazy as it’s better than the one we had in the Cherokee trailhawk, so we leave it on. 3 weeks ago I was at a light and the ESS kicked in as normal but this time the car turned off completely and asked for the to turn on again on the display, so I did and everything worked fine again figured it was a computer brain fart. This morning my wife calls that it happened again in a drive thru I told her to cycle the car on/off and let me know, she then calls back a minute later saying the engine made a loud sound and shut off again, now with the service engine light on and the Autostart disabled. She was able to get the Jeep started and is driving to work now I told her I would come by to swap cars so I can take it in for service. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Picked up my Jeep this afternoon, told me it was ready to go. Cause of problem crank sensor. I picked it up drove down the street about 1mile and long behold turned off again with no intention of starting. Waited on road for 5mins thinking I might need a tow but after 5 attempts it turned over and drove back to the dealer. They had to open ticket number 2 on the Jeep let’s see what they’re diagnosis is this time.
What worries me is my wife drives this vehicle daily with my children can’t have this happen on a one month old vehicle.

First visit in they tightened the harness as it appeared to be loose which did not fix the problem. They then swapped the Crank sensor as it was determined to be faulty. So far the Jeep is working great again and we are back to enjoying our Jeep life.
