These are the various reasons why it's a reasonable idea to skip the first model year of any new car.
While I won't argue that there aren't sometimes first year issues that need to be addressed, there are also cost saves that get implemented the second year...

Actually fixes and cost saves don't always follow model years so I don't give too much thought to it either way.

Well I was waiting to make MSgt. and just found out 2 weeks ago that not only did I make it, but I get 4 months of back pay!!!

Seriously since I was on deployment I'm waiting to use taxes as a nice down payment. So realistically I'm thinking May or June to order one. I have daily driven an 84 CJ7 on 35's for the last 18 years (the whole time I've been in the military, so I think it's time to relegate the CJ to weekend fun drives.

Also my son (mil too) has an 18 JLUS so I need to get into this century... must be nice to be single and no kids LOL
Thank you for your service and welcome to the the club of modern Wranglers :captain: :)

Dude you got the cash, just go to the dealership and knife hand that punk @ss salesman and drive that bad boy home! What are you waiting on?! That’s what deployments are for LOL

EDIT:

Think about it, it could be your first command decision as a MSgt lol

I am waiting to see how the JT and the diesel shake out. I want a replacement for my dakota that is similar. Club cab 6' bed v8 4x4. That would be perfect JT, but all signs point to the current state of the industry continuing to be BIGGER CAB smaller bed every revision.

I would order tomorrow if I knew that Code 22 was a hemi even if its auto only and was available in the 2 door.

I'm waiting for money, this will be my first new car and what I have now has little to no trade-in value so it is quite an expensive jump. I have my fingers crossed that they don't axe mojito to soon so I can still get it
I'm in the same boat. But, I'm looking at dealers and even purchasing out of state.

Waiting on several things.

1. To save up enough cash to put 50% or more down.
2. New Bikini Color to become available
3. Possibly waiting to see if Diesel gets put in a 2 door Rubicon model.
4. For all the bugs to get worked out. i.e. Welds, death wobble, electronics, recalls, etc.....
By the time the Bikini and Diesel are available I should have my cash.
By the time 1-3 get are accomplished, I'm hoping number 4 is taken care of.

Well, I was on track to order a fully loaded JLUR in May (2019), but my truck (07 Ram 2500 6.7 Cummins) was fixing to cost me several thousand in repairs and maintenance. Went to my local dealer and test drove a JKU Sahara. Didn’t care for it too much (the main thing is the running boards were too wide and the wrong height for me). The Rubicon has rock sliders and I’m planning to have wire cable steps welded directly under them, not sticking out, moot point right now though.

I ended up in a brand new 2017 Renegade that sat there the whole year at a good price. At this rate, the money manager (wife) says to drive this a couple years, then sell it to one of the kids and buy the Wrangler Rubicon I want. So I’m thinking I’ll end up with a 21 or 22 model.

I'm waiting for the 2019 with ACC. So far jeep agency in my country cannot order me a jeep since the ACC code is still not opened for middle east. Until the time comes, I will order my jeep and God knows when will I receive it.

im waiting for the various issues to be resolved, steering, lifters, welds and similar. i will have to order to get what i want (base 2 door rubi with the only option the hard top). as long as the build quality appears to be hit or miss, putting down money, ordering and then having issues with the results prevents me from buying.
Agreed!

I've been wanting a Wrangler for some time. My delay:
- Pay off my son's vehicle,
- Save up for a better down payment (closer every month),
- See more on the diesel,
- Different colors (I liked the Anvil and Rhino. Saw Sting Gray in person and it didn't impress me as those two colors did)

Soon...soon

I'm waiting for the loose wandering steering issue to be fixed at the factory. I've driven 5 new JLU's at 5 different dealerships and they all had loose play in the steering and wandered at speeds of 45-60 MPH. When this is fixed I will buy. It's disappointing that this issue has been going on for months. The steering just seems unsafe as it is now configured.

Does anyone have any insight as to when Jeep plans on addressing this issue? I have read many posts of individuals fixing, or attempting to fix this problem on their JL's but no info on when Jeep will adjust the steering as they are produced at the factory.
