@JLWF Dealer Guy sorry if this has already been asked, but up till what point can an order be changed easily? I placed my order on the 27th for a Sting Grey, but want to add dual top and proximity, and ditch the steel bumpers. Should this be easy for the dealer to do?

I’m not @JLWF Dealer Guy , by any means, but you can maybe change your order while in D status. Check with your dealer first thing!

“Can maybe” lol thanks! That’s what I thought but hoping he can give me a firm answer. I did already email the dealer just wanted to hear it from someone who knows for sure.

I can definitely say it’s up to your dealer. I changed an order in D..once it goes to D1..it’s no mans land .

Seconded - I’m slightly wishing I ordered proximity to my 2/28 order...

One of the things I'm trying to change as well. According to Jeep Chat you can change while in D, but they said check with the dealer as well. Because I live in NJ I'm sure it will go into D1 tomorrow my luck. Dealers have to be closed on Sunday in this state.

That’s what I’m saying. Your dealer decides if they want to change your order. They can change it in D-if they want to. If it’s D1, they cannot change it.

Yeah, my question was just to make sure they can. If they tell me they can't vs they don't want to I'd have an issue. My dealer has been amazing so far, especially putting up with my indecisiveness! So I'm sure they will take care of me.

Okay..well as long as you stay in D, they should be able to change it since they seem to be taking care of you. Some dealers don’t want to do the legwork. If you have a good relationship with your dealer and you’re in D, then it should be no problem.

What's D status? I put my order in on Saturday and decided on matching hardtop but unavailable for Sting Gray. Can I cancel my order on Monday and just wait for availability of matching top.

No one said anything about canceling.

You should have no problem changing your order for a while. As near as i can tell they have not started building any Sting-Grays yet. Or the dealer may agree to keep your existing order for the lot while you wait to order the new one.

I am not aware of any way to actually cancel an order but others can feel free to weigh in.

I'm pretty sure I can cancel. When I ordered in the morning they original told me I couldn't get any hardtop. But when I found out others on the forum were able to get the black hardtops I went back in the afternoon and they changed it. As long as their is'nt a vin assignment it should be a no brainer and dealer said it takes a few days for that.

Yep, in D you can change. I think you will be fine if you do it this week early.

Is there something special they need to do? He's trying to modify it and said it will not let him.
