Apple Car Play is Intermittent

8.4 and my Apple Car Play has been out of commission for over 2 months. Pulled fuses, disconnected the battery, tried different wires/usb ports, and even tried other iPhones all with no luck.

Apple Play still works on my wife's Honda with my phone, so I know the issue isn't my phone's iOS

Thankfully U-Connect has still worked, so I haven't been able to convince myself to waste a whole day at the dealer dealing with this. Will get it checked out with my upcoming 10k service

I did have an issue with CarPlay - until I realized that it was the non-Apple cable that was the problem. Once I used the original cable, the issues stopped altogether.
This. I learned it with my wifes Honda Pilot. You have to use an Apple cable or a high quality compatible cable. i use an Anker brand and have no issues in either vehicle.

Thank you Laura. I just did an ios update and I will make sure I am using a genuine Apple Lightning cable. Let me see how this works out.

The only problem I’ve been having with my apple car play is the volume going up all the way when I turn the knob slightly... I’m at the dealership getting the v41 recall done and having them look into the apple carplay

Anyone else having issues with their Apple Car Play working at times and not working at other times? I am wondering if this is a software issue or maybe a hardware problem?

Trying my best to NOT take my Jeep in for service... and I think you all know why.
I'm sorry to tell you that the issue you mentioned happens to me in my 2019 JL Rubicon daily.

I'm sorry to tell you that the issue you mentioned happens to me in my 2019 JL Rubicon daily.
So far, since I did the 13.1.2 Apple iOS software update the other day, everything has been working perfectly.
Time will tell.

Did you do the most recent iOS update as well, assuming you have an iPhone?

I have the 7.0, and I've had the carplay drop on long trips.When it drops, it won't even recognize the phone with bluetooth until after a restart, and one time the radio wouldn't shut down at all until I finally pulled the fuse for a few minutes, then all went back to normal. I have recently put an OEM apply cable in the jeep to see if that will help, but it will take a road trip to know for sure ;)
